Description

This chest tomb, located about 16 yards south-south-east of the south door of the Church of St George, is likely from the late 18th century. It is made of finely cut sandstone and features a moulded base and capping with a flat top. The tomb has corner balusters and oval side and end panels, which are adorned with garlanded surrounds. It is one of a pair of monuments situated outside the south porch, the other monument commemorating John Slade. The inscription on this tomb is illegible.
