Description
This barn, located about 40 yards north-north-east of Blaenau Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century to mid-18th century, with later 18th-century extensions. It is constructed of rubble and has a corrugated iron roof. The structure features a five-bay barn, with a three-bay cow shed on the right and a transverse three-bay shelter on the left. There is a cow cot pentice under a catslide roof attached to the front of the second bay from the left of the barn. The barn has opposed full-height doors at its center, a ledged door on the right-hand bay, and three evenly spaced ledged doors leading to the cow house. An open-fronted rubble pillared shelter is located across the left end of the barn. Inside, there are raking struts from the tie-beams and half trusses in the shelter.
