Description
This is a barn with an attached cow shelter, located about 20 yards to the northeast of Upper Pen-y-park. It likely dates from the late 16th century to the late 17th century. The structure is built from rubble and timber-frame, with a roof made of stone slate and corrugated iron. The barn originally had five bays, but only two bays remain. The cow shelter has a catslide extension at the front, which is supported by three rubble columns and end walls. There is an entrance into the former middle bay, featuring full-height ledged doors, with the cow shelter located to the left of these doors. Inside, there are three pairs of full cruck blades, some of which still have collars or ties.
