Description

Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that may date back to the 17th century, with early 19th century and late 20th century alterations. It features a timber frame with plaster infill, sandstone rubble, brick, and a tiled roof, along with rubble and brick external end stacks. The building has a rectangular plan with two bays oriented roughly east to west and consists of one storey and an attic.

On the south elevation, there is one window, which is a mid-20th century three-light casement under a segmental head to the left-hand gable front. To the right, there is another three-light late 20th century casement set in contemporary brickwork. A ledged late 19th century door with a square glazed panel and segmental head is located to the right side of the gable front, along with a passageway at the extreme right.

The north elevation features one twelve-paned casement on the left side and exposed square timber framing, which is three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. To the left, there is an apsidal bread oven set against the external stack, which curiously overlaps the southern portion of the building. Inside, the farmhouse has ceiling beams with stop-chamfered spine beams that have run-out stops.
