Description

Numbers 47 and 49, including the Leominster Gun Room, are a pair of houses dating to the later 19th century. They are now partly used as a shop. The building is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof and a central brick ridge stack, along with a stack to the rear. The three-storey, four-window range features late 19th century two-over-two sash windows, set within beaded cases and topped with painted stone lintels on the first and second floors. Stone quoins are visible. The left-hand side (Number 47) has a 20th-century six-panel door with a modillioned wooden hood supported on panelled pilasters. To the right is a late 19th century tripartite window with plain sashes in a moulded case, set beneath a cambered stucco arch with a keyblock. Further right are a 20th-century door, a shop door, and an early 20th-century shop front, all with a fascia board on panelled pilasters. The interiors were not inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
