Description
This outbuilding, located about 7 yards north of the Church of St Catherine, dates from around 1885 and is likely the work of architect J P Seddon. It is constructed from squared sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and features a pantiled roof. The building has a rectangular plan that runs roughly east to west and is a single storey high.
The south elevation includes three round-headed chamfered windows and a similar doorway, which has a ledged door with strap hinges positioned to the left of center. A moulded stone cornice runs along the top. The east gable features an oculus above a central two-leaved ledged door, which is adorned with ornate strap hinges. The design details of the openings and the cornice are consistent with those of the adjacent Church of St Catherine, contributing to its group value.
