Description

BODENHAM CP MAUND BRYAN SO 55 SE 6/45 Barn about 12 yards south of Maund Farmhouse GV II

Barn. C17. Timber-framed with some lath infill and weatherboarding on sandstone rubble base and a machine-tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned roughly east/west; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors. Interior: framing has three rows of square panels from sill to wall- plate, long straight braces across the lower corners, collar and tie-beam- trusses to gable ends with three struts to collar and V-strut in apex, two intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts and two tiers of trenched purlins. The barn is situated adjacent to Maund Farmhouse (qv). Included for group value. (RCHM Herefs II, p 15, item 4).
