Description

The outbuildings located about 45 yards west of the Rectory consist of a barn and a cow shelter, which have been converted into an office and garages. The barn likely dates from the early 18th century, while the cow shelter is from the late 18th century. These structures feature timber frames set on high rubble plinths, with brick infill, weather-boarding, and tiled roofs.

The barn is arranged in four bays and is oriented northeast to southwest, with the cow shelter attached to the south side of the northern end. The north elevation of the barn, which faces the road, has a three-light top-vent late 20th-century casement window below a segmental arch that marks the former entry to the threshing floor in the second bay from the west. Above the plinth, there are two 2-light late 20th-century casements, one to the left and one roughly in the center. The west gable of the barn is covered in weatherboarding, and there are full-height ledged doors at the rear leading to the threshing floor.

The return elevation of the cow shelter visible from the road features thin studs and tension braces that were likely intended for weatherboarding but are now filled with brick. The southwest side of the cow shelter has four bays supported by five posts. Inside, the barn has collar trusses with angle struts connecting the ties to the principals on either side of the former threshing floor. The southwest gable end includes two vertical posts extending from the tie to the collar, with a pair of parallel angle struts supporting the principals on each side.
