Description

This is a gate and gate piers located about 30 yards east of Brook Farmhouse, likely built around 1866. The gate is made of wrought iron and features a wide design with spear-heads on the bars and dog bars with curving rails. The gate piers are made of tapered cast iron and have fluted columns topped with finials. This gate and its piers are an important feature in the approach to Brook Farmhouse and the nearby farmstead complex, which includes stables, a tack room, and a trap house. They are included for their group value as a complete example.
