Description
This barn, located approximately 15 meters south-east of Hill End Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth with a timber-framed upper section, which includes some brick infill and weatherboard cladding, topped by a slate roof. The barn consists of five bays arranged east to west, with a former central threshing floor. To the south, there is a former horse engine house that has been converted to provide accommodation for hop pickers, which now has an inserted floor. The structure includes collar and tie-beam trusses with inclined struts. The barn is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
