5/12 Barn about 10 yards south of Caldicott Farmhouse (previously listed as being in St Weonards CP)

GV II

Barn. Possibly C15, extended in late C17 or early C18 and altered in C19. Timber-frame, sandstone rubble, weatherboards with Welsh slate and corrugated iron roofs. T-plan, with three-bay main C15 range aligned north-east/south- west and three-bay cross-wing at north end. North-west elevation: gable-front of C17 or C18 cross-wing is weatherboarded with corrugated iron in gable-top and tallet stairs rising to ledged loft door; main range has full-height opposed cart-entries to middle bay and two loops to each side; cross-wing is half-hipped to rear. Interior has three pairs of crucks to main range; cross-wing has triple angle strut trusses. Caldicott Farmhouse (qv) is in St Weonards CP. (RCHM Vol I, p 233).
