Description

Glandwr is a 17th-century farmhouse with alterations from the mid-19th century and minor 20th-century additions. Constructed of sandstone rubble, it has stone slate roofs. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with wings running east/west and north/south, and its main facade faces east. A 20th-century addition extends to the west. The main axial stack is located within the house, and a south gable-end stack is also present. The entrance is centrally located on the east front. The two-storey east front features two single-pane sash windows to the left, and a single 2-light window on the ground floor. The wing’s gable end has a 20th-century window to the right of the doorway, which is sheltered by a canopied porch. The porch is supported by projecting joists that form brackets and a shaped lintel. A wooden-framed doorway leads to a battened door. Interior inspection was not carried out, but records from the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCHM) indicate the presence of a timber-framed partition with segmental-headed doorways.
