Description

Park Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered in the 20th century. It features a timber-frame and plaster construction on a rubble plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. There is a large rubble stack with a bread-oven and a 20th-century brick chimney on the left gable. The cottage has a two-bay plan and a 20th-century timber-framed cross-wing on the right. It stands two storeys high with a single-window range that includes a 20th-century horizontal casement and a 20th-century three-light casement flanked by two smaller 20th-century casements. On the left side, there is a panel dated 1647 AD. The rear of the cottage features 20th-century horizontal casements along with a 19th-century fixed light on the ground floor. There is also a 20th-century painted brick outshut with a shallow pitched plain tile roof and a 20th-century panelled and glazed door. Inside, the cottage retains exposed timber-framing and ceiling beams, as well as a stone fireplace.
