Description
Upper Wintercott is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof with a stone-coped gable parapet. The building has two brick buttress stacks on each gable and stands three storeys tall with a cellar. The front has a three-window range, including 6/6 sash windows in the centre of an advanced bay on the ground and first floors, and 3/3 sash windows above. These windows are topped with gauged brick flat arches. The central pediment has a lunette sinking under a semicircular brick arch, adorned with brick modillions. The returned sides feature a tier of sash windows to the right, above half-glazed doors that are sheltered by a simple hood. The symmetrical wings include a plank door on the right. The garden front has steps that were formerly flanked by stone balustrades, leading to a central door beneath a stucco pediment supported by attached columns. This door is flanked by Venetian windows and additional sashes, all under gauged brick flat arches, with modillioned stone or stucco eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
