Description
House. It was likely built in the mid to late 18th century and altered in the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, and has a hipped slate roof. Large external rubble end stacks with offsets and tall brick stacks are present. It is two storeys high, with a yellow brick dentilled eaves cornice. There are three bays. Windows have cambered heads, partially hidden behind blind boxes. The ground floor has two tripartite sash windows featuring a 12-pane sash in the center. The first floor has 20-pane sashes in the outer bays and a 16-pane sash in the central bay. The central entrance has a flat, moulded canopy supported by wrought iron brackets, a moulded architrave, panelled reveals and soffit, half-glazed double doors, and a transom light with lattice glazing bars. A lean-to addition on the left side has a 19th-century canted bay window with a moulded architrave and a central 12-pane sash. Behind this addition is a 19th-century single-storey brick service wing.
