Description
Knoakes Court is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with some 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of painted brick and features a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with a cellar. The front has a three-window range, featuring 4/4 sash windows in broad cases at the centre, flanked by plastered sinkings and set under segmental arches. The central entrance has a temporarily removed door with a barred overlight, all beneath a simple hood. There are also two 6/6 sash windows in broad cases under segmental arches. At the rear, there is a long wing made of brick, sandstone rubble, and weatherboarding, with a plain tile and Welsh slate roof. The south front has a rubble stack-base, and there are various lights, openings, and entrances. The original farmhouse is likely still intact, although the fine barns that were noted in the 1954 listing have been completely demolished. The interior has not been inspected.
