Description

Chipps House and the attached Hop Kilns date from the 16th to the 19th century. The building features a mix of timber-frame and plaster, timber-frame and brick, colour-washed brick, and colour-washed rubble, topped with a hipped plain tile roof and corrugated-iron roofs. There is a brick triple stack to the right and various other brick stacks. The structure is E-shaped with two cross-wings, a 19th-century rear addition, and two Hop Kilns to the north. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a five-window range, including 18th-century casements and a fixed light in a moulded oak case to the left, with a fixed light above. The entrance is to the left, featuring early 20th-century double doors under a brick segmental arch, alongside four casements and a rubble buttress stack with a brick chimney.

At the rear, there are two plank doors and various windows, including sashes and casements. The oasthouses to the north are constructed of brick and have slate roofs. The interiors have not been inspected.
