Model estate cottage. c.1855. By T. C. Hine for T. B. T. Hildyard. Brick with ashlar dressings. Patterned plain tile roof, chamfered plinth. Half-round brick eaves, pedimented gables. 2 external side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 3 unequal bays. Windows are mainly chamfered mullioned casements. East front has projecting central bay with hipped canted bay window with 3 casements. To its left, a casement. To right, in return angle, hipped porch with brick base and turned wood balusters. Above, C20 casement and to right, glazed quatrefoil. South side has to left, brick wall to back yard. To right, a timber mullioned casement on each floor. North side has central mullioned casement. To right, set back rear lean-to has close boarded door. Above, to left, a casement. The design of this model estate cottage won first prize in a competition held in 1848 by The Society for Improving the Condition of the Labouring Classes, whose president was Prince Albert.
