Description

Raspberry Cottage is a cottage built in the late 17th century and late 18th century, with a southwest wing added in the late 19th century. It features timber framing, coursed rubble, and brick, all whitewashed, with pantile roofs and a rubble plinth. The building has two ridge stacks and a single side wall stack. It is single storey plus attics, measuring two bays wide by three bays deep, and is arranged in an L-plan.

On the street front, to the left, there is a casement window, and to the right, a mid-20th century door flanked by single Yorkshire sash windows. The east gable has a door to the left and a casement to the right, with a Yorkshire sash window above to the left. The south front features a casement window and, to its right, a Yorkshire sash flanked by single close boarded doors, with a sloping dormer above. The return angle to the left has a Yorkshire sash flanked by single doors, all with segmental heads, and above are two sloping dormers. The east and south sides have continuous glazed porches from the mid-20th century.

Inside, there are a pair of bay posts with a tie beam, a chamfered span beam, and a stud wall. The interior also includes a brick winder stair with stick balusters, a softwood winder stair with a square newel and similar balusters, and a single beaded plank door. The cottage was divided into two separate cottages until 1956.
