Description
Elm Cottage is a cottage built in 1735, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some blue brick elements, and features a plain tile roof. The cottage has a single central red brick ridge stack and brick coped gables with kneelers. It has dentil eaves and is set on a plinth. There is a first floor band made of red brick stretchers and blue brick headers. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. There is a blocked doorway, and to the right, there are two casement windows. Above these, there are two Yorkshire sash windows. The left gable wall has a 20th-century projecting bay and above it, there is a 20th-century casement window. In the apex of the gable, there is a plaque inscribed "J.E. 1735". This cottage is included in the register for its group value only.
