Description

The Manor House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations and extensions from the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of red brick, with some blue brick and ashlar, and features a plain tile roof, with some areas covered in slate. The house has a single red brick ridge stack and brick coped gables with kneelers.

It stands two storeys plus a garret and consists of seven bays. The rightmost bay, which is from the 19th century, projects slightly, is gabled, and has dogtooth eaves. The left six bays have a first-floor band and a lintel band made of red brick stretchers and blue brick headers. From left to right, the windows include a small casement, a larger similar casement, a round arched casement, another small casement, and a doorway featuring a glazed and panelled door. The gabled bay has a projecting bay window with a slate roof and a tripartite cross casement.

On the upper floor, from left to right, there is an oriel window, a slightly projecting casement with a sill supported by two brackets, a small casement, and in the gabled bay, a segmental arched cross casement. To the left, there is a lower single bay wing with a segmental arched tripartite casement. The left gable wall of the 18th-century section has an ashlar plaque in the apex with an illegible date and inscription. Below this plaque is a single casement with a now foreshortened continuous hood mould made of red brick stretchers and blue brick headers. Above the plaque is some blue brick diaper work. At the rear, there are later extensions.
