Description

East Gateway is a gateway built around 1830 for John Emerton Wescomb. It is made of red brick with ashlar dressings and is set on a plinth. The gateway features a moulded Tudor archway, which is flanked by single sloping buttresses on the west side. The east side has a Tudor style raised brick and dogtooth hood mould over the arch. Additionally, there is an ashlar coped parapet that projects over the buttresses and includes mock machicolations underneath.
