Description

Manor Cottages, located on Epperstone Road, is a pair of cottages that likely originated as a single house and outbuilding. They date from the mid-17th century and feature a timber frame with early 19th-century brick cladding. The higher wing has a pantile roof, while the lower wing on the right has a plain tile roof. There are two red brick and render stacks at the gables of the higher wing, with the right stack being external.

The cottages are single storey plus attic and consist of five bays. From left to right, the façade includes a single tripartite 20th-century glazing bar casement, a gabled brick porch with lattice and plain tile roofing that has an inner plank door, a single tripartite casement under a segmental arch, a doorway with a panelled door, and in the lower wing, a single 20th-century tripartite glazing bar casement. Above the higher wing, there are two gabled dormers made of brick, pantile, and render, each with a single glazing bar casement. The lower wing has a small glazing bar casement. To the left, there is a lean-to made of brick and pantile with a doorway that has a plank door.

At the rear of the higher wing, there is a 20th-century two-storey single bay extension, and a single-storey 20th-century extension to the lower wing. Inside, visible timbers include wall plates and a single post, and there is a stud partition on the first floor.
