Description
The Smithy is a smithy building dated 1845, constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. It features a single 20th-century red brick ridge stack and raised brick eaves. The building is single storey and has a single bay road/gable front. The central doorway has a double plank door with a wooden lintel above it, and there is a 20th-century inscribed board over the doorway. Surrounding the doorway is a large painted brick horseshoe. At the apex of the building, there is an ashlar plaque inscribed with "J F 1845". The west front consists of seven bays of various builds, which include two Yorkshire sashes set under segmental arches. To the left of the sashes is a doorway with a double plank door, a single glazing bar casement, and further left, there are three doorways with plank doors.
