Description

The former stable range at Norwood Park, now used as garages, workshops, and apple stores, dates from the mid-18th century and 19th century, with a conversion to apple stores around 1945. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features hipped and gabled roofs made of slate and pantiles. The eaves are chamfered and rebated. Most of the windows are glazing bar sashes. The building is arranged in a U-shape around a stable yard and has a total of nine windows, with sections that are single and two storeys high.

The southwest front, which faces Norwood Park, includes an off-centre single bay projecting block that has a single window. Above this block is a moulded pediment that contains a clock, topped by an octagonal wooden bell turret. Below, there is a moulded round-headed doorway flanked by single blocked windows. To the left of this doorway is a block with two small windows, and below it, a door to the left with an overlight and a larger window to the right. Further left is a taller water tower featuring two larger windows and an altered doorway below it. To the right of the projecting block, there is a two-storey section with four blank spaces on each floor.

On the southeast side, there are three blank windows, and below them, seven round-headed recesses containing blank windows with rubbed brick heads. At the northeast end, there is a hipped single-storey carriage house. The single-storey range to the northwest, which faces the stable yard, includes four stable doors and four slatted casements.
