Description
A group of seven late 18th-century cottages, now reduced to six, located on Main Street, Linby. The cottages are constructed of coursed and squared rubble with pantile roofs. The rear of the building is partly weatherboarded, and there are two gable and four ridge stacks. The arrangement is in an L-shape and two storeys plus garrets, with a seven-bay front. The windows are 20th-century timber and plastic casements. The front elevation features 20th-century glazed doors. The south front includes a doorway flanked by single casements, followed by two casements and two doors. A carriage entry is flanked to the left by a single casement and to the right by two lower casements. Above, there are seven casements. The east side features a projecting gable with a segmental-headed door to the left. To its right are a casement, a door with a hood, and two doors, each flanked by single casements, all with segmental heads. Further along is a weatherboarded opening with a large casement. Above this are six casements, and above those again, a garret casement to the left. The west gable has a small casement above and a garret casement to the right.
