Description

The wall, gate piers, and gates at Spital House date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from ashlar, coursed rubble, iron, and wood. The curtilage wall surrounds the east, north, and west sides of Spital House. It features a coursed rubble wall that is capped with ashlar and has wrought iron railings. On the east and west sides, there are single pairs of ashlar piers, each with blind panelling and topped with shaped coping and a small ashlar orb. The west side has double wrought iron gates, while the east side has double wooden gates.
