Description
Ragnall House is a house built in the mid-18th century and the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features two red brick gable stacks. The gables are raised and have brick coping with kneelers, and the eaves are decorated with dentils. The house is designed in an L-shape, has two and a half storeys, and consists of four bays with a band at the first floor.
There are two projecting bays from the 19th century, each with a slate roof and a single 20th-century French window that replaced four window openings. Above these are four glazing bar sashes set under segmental arches, with four smaller glazing bar sashes on the top floor. The left gable has a single glazing bar sash, and to its left is a doorway featuring a partially glazed door, an overlight, and marginal lights. Above this doorway are two similar sashes, all under segmental arches.
To the right, set back, is a two-storey wing made of red brick and pantiles, which has a central red brick ridge stack, dentil eaves, and a projecting lean-to also made of red brick and pantiles. At the rear, there is a two-storey, two-bay extension from the 19th century. The house is included in the register for its group value only.
