Description
Wilmot House is a late 18th-century house located on the south side of Main Street, Dunham-on-Trent. The exterior is rendered over brick, with a 20th-century coursed rubble base. It has a tile roof and two gable stacks, and a central ridge stack, all rendered. The gables are raised and rendered, with kneelers and dogtooth eaves, forming an L-shaped plan. The building is two storeys tall, with four bays and a first-floor band. A doorway has a part-glazed door with a four-pane overlight, flanked by single attached columns that support an arched door hood. Two glazing bar casements are on either side of the doorway. Above are four similar casements with 20th-century glazing within original segmental arches. A three-bay, two-story wing extends to the rear, featuring a pantile roof and dogtooth eaves. Connected to this is a single-bay, one-and-a-half story outbuilding with a pantile roof, dentil eaves, and tumbled brickwork to its left gable. This outbuilding features a single opening on its first floor. The building is included on the register for its group value.
