Description

The Mount is a house built in the late 18th century, with some 20th-century additions. It features a red brick exterior with a rendered plinth and a pantile roof. The gables are brick coped with kneelers, and there are two red brick gable stacks. A wooden cornice runs along the top. The house is two storeys high and has three bays.

The central entrance has a closed and gabled porch, which includes single casement windows on the front and left sides, and a glazed door on the right leading to an inner panelled door with an over light. On either side of the porch are single glazing bar sash windows set under segmental arches. Above the porch, there are three additional glazing bar sashes.

To the left of the main house, there is a single-storey outbuilding with four bays and dentil eaves. This outbuilding has a large doorway with a wooden door, a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash window to the left, a doorway with a plank door, and another opening with a wooden shutter further left.

To the right, set back from the main house, is a single-storey plus garret wing, also with dentil eaves, and a projecting conservatory made of glass and render, which is a 1950s extension. This wing has an inner doorway with a panelled door and a single glazing bar Yorkshire sash to the right. Attached to the right of this wing is another greenhouse, also a 1950s extension.
