Description

Tuxford Hall is a house built around 1785, with early 19th century extensions and 20th century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped pantile roof with two red brick outer stacks and dentil eaves. The building is two and a half storeys tall and has three bays, with bands separating the first and second floors. The central doorway is approached by three steps and has a panelled door with a traceried overlight. This doorway is flanked by single fluted pilasters and an entablature. On either side of the entrance are single 20th century canted bays, each containing three glazing bar sashes. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes, with three smaller similar sashes on the top floor.

To the right of the main house is a single storey red brick and pantile outbuilding from the 19th century. To the left, set back, is a single storey red brick and pantile wing with a large glazing bar casement. Attached to the left and projecting is a further single storey range with three bays, which includes a doorway with a 20th century door and a marginal light to the left, along with two doorways featuring 20th century garage doors under a single gable. At the rear are two storey extensions, with the north front dating to the early 19th century. This front has a central two storey single bay flanked by two large, projecting bowed bays that are three storeys tall. The parapets are rendered and embattled, with the bows stepped.

The central doorway on this elevation features glazed double doors and a small pointed arched fixed light above. Each side has a single pointed arched fixed light, each with two pointed arched lights, and each light includes a single mullion. The lead flashing underneath is scalloped. Above, there is a central pointed arched sash with Gothick glazing bars, and to either side are single pointed arched windows, each with two pointed arched sashes also featuring Gothick glazing bars. On the top floor, there are two recessed round blind panels.
