Description
No. 43 Bridgegate is a building dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It stands three storeys high and is roughcast with a Welsh slate roof and three brick stacks. The top floor features six hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor also has six windows. On the ground floor, there are two windows and two wide canted bays with three lights each, which have modern glazing. These bays flank a doorcase that includes a pediment and plain pilasters, with four steps leading up to it, supported by iron handrails. The door itself consists of six panels. There are remains of a band between the ground and first floors, a round-headed passage entry to the right, and remnants of a plinth. The building is topped with a dentil eaves cornice.
