Description

Chapel Street Farmhouse and the adjoining cottage is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, with the cottage rebuilt in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of dressed stone and brick, topped with slate roofs, and features three gable stacks. It is two storeys high with garrets and has an L-shaped plan with three bays.

The south front has an off-centre door with an overlight, flanked on the left by one sash window and on the right by two sash windows. Above, there are three sash windows, with the central one being the smallest.

The west end includes a two-storey rear wing on the left, which has a door flanked by a single casement window, and to the right, there is another casement window. Above this, there are three casement windows and a garret casement window. The east gable features two garret casement windows. To the right, there is a two-storey service wing from the late 18th century, which has a doorway and two casement windows, with two more casement windows above. The adjoining cottage wing has a door on the west side flanked by a single casement window, and above it, there is a casement window with a segmental head. The east side has two casement windows, and above, there are three casement windows, all with segmental heads.
