Description

A farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, situated near Spital on Ermine Street. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with brick dressings, and has a slate roof with two brick gable stacks. It follows a "T" shape plan. The front of the farmhouse is three bays wide with a central six-panelled door, featuring a traceried fanlight, panelled wooden reveals, a decorative doorcase with pilasters, and an open pediment above. To the right of the door is an inset bootscraper and a single plain sash window. To the left is a 19th-century canted bay window with a plain sash and a hipped slate roof. The first floor has three plain sash windows. All sashes have segmental heads with splayed rubbed brick arches.
