Description
The Fleece Inn is an inn dating from the late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a pantiled roof with brick coped tumbled gables and small kneelers, as well as a single end stack and a ridge stack. The building has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high. Originally three bays wide, it has been extended to five bays, with a dentillated eaves course.
The entrance is off-centre, featuring a plain door with a three-pane overlight set under a segmental head. This door is flanked by two 19th-century canted bay windows with glazing bar sashes and flat roofs. To the right of the entrance, there is a three-light 19th-century casement window, followed by a single light window and a blocked opening. Above the door, there is a short glazing bar sash window, with a glazing bar sash to the left and three similar windows to the right, all of which have segmental heads. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with two bays, also featuring glazing bar sashes.
