Description

This is an early 19th-century building on Market Street. It is three storeys high, built of brick with a pantile roof, brick coped gable ends, and stacks. The building features plain brick end pilasters topped with stone caps. It originally had three windows, with rusticated lintels, wooden window frames, and hung sash windows with glazing bars to the top floor. Later, the first-floor windows were shortened and fitted with new four-light casement windows. A late 19th-century shop front is present. A round-arched, rusticated entry leads to Chapel Yard on the right side of the building. It forms a group with numbers 25 to 39 on the same side of the street, with numbers 27 and 39 being noted for their local interest.
