Description

The barn, stables, and carriage house at Manor Farm, formerly listed as the barn, stables, and carriage house at Ivy House, date from the late 18th century and have some 20th-century alterations. They are constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond of three and feature pantiled roofs. The building is arranged in an L-shape with two ranges.

The north range consists of three units: a taller barn on the left and two lower stables on the right. The barn has wide off-centre double doors set under a segmental brick arch, and to the left, there is a square planked opening at a higher level. Inside, the barn features a pegged four-bay clasped purlin softwood roof. Next to the barn is a single doorway with a 20th-century light to the left. Beyond this is a later unit that has a dogtooth eaves course, which includes a fixed two-light glazing bar window, a planked opening, and a 20th-century fixed light in an original opening.

The west range contains a carriage house with a dovecote above. It features wide semi-circular headed carriage arches, with a small cast iron ventilated light to the left and, at a higher level, one ventilated opening and one planked opening. The gable includes eight pigeon flight holes. To the right of this range is a lower structure.
