Description

Westgate House is a house built in the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century and some later changes. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar details and features a slate roof. The building is three stories high and has three bays. The central doorway has a four-panel door with an overlight and is framed by a wooden pilaster door surround. On either side of the doorway are single margin-light sash windows, topped with flat ashlar lintels. Above, there are three similar sash windows, and above those, three smaller sash windows. At the rear, there is a two-storey workshop range with a pantile roof. Inside, the house features a good stick baluster staircase and panel doors.
