Description
Templeway House is a 17th-century house with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubble, partly banded ironstone and limestone, with ashlar quoins and dressings, stone coped gables, and a pantiled roof with a brick ridge stack. The house is in an L-shape and has two storeys, with a garret on the left and an attic on the right, presenting a four-bay front. The centrally positioned early 19th-century entrance features a six-panelled glazed door within a fluted wooden surround decorated with angle rosettes at the top, sheltered by a 19th-century wooden gabled roof with decorative wooden brackets. To the left of the entrance is a pair of 20th-century casement windows with glazing bars that open horizontally, and to the right, a single 2-light casement window. The first floor has three 20th-century horizontally hung casement windows. A single plain sash window is set within the gable to the left, and to the right is a 20th-century three-light casement dormer with a flat roof and weatherboarded cheeks. All windows have timber lintels.
