Description
Barrowby Lodge and the adjoining stable are a farmhouse and stable built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. The buildings are made of brick and feature gabled and hipped slate roofs, with two renewed brick side wall stacks and a single ridge stack. They are two storeys high and have a three-window range, forming an L-plan layout. The front of the lodge includes a first-floor band, wooden eaves, and a slightly projecting central bay, with windows that have brick flat arches. There are three 12-pane sash windows, and a central round-arched doorway with imposts, an early 19th-century half-glazed door, and a fanlight. On either side of the doorway, there are tall 15-pane sashes. The rear wing has dentillated eaves and an external gable stack, featuring early 19th-century fenestration with two blocked elliptical arched openings on the ground floor. Attached to the lodge is a single-storey stable, which has been converted into a garage, featuring a glazed pantile roof and a basket-arched doorway.
