Description
Harlaxton Lower Lodge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1814, with 19th-century additions and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of brick, partly rendered, and features hipped concrete tile roofs. The building has two storeys and a three-window range of 6-pane sash windows, with segmental brick heads above the openings. The central entrance consists of a panelled door with an overlight, flanked by tall 12-pane sash windows. The right return is rendered and has similar regular fenestration. This farmhouse was built by George de Ligne Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton, who constructed many estate buildings in Harlaxton between around 1780 and 1820. It is notable for being one of the few farmhouses that has survived substantially intact.
