Description
Trelawn is a house located on High Street in Harlaxton, built in the late 17th century. It was altered in 1806 and remodelled around 1830. The building features coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has a steeply pitched pantile roof. It has two gable stacks with coped square double flues and coped gables with kneelers topped with ball finials. The house is a single storey plus attics and has a three-window range, with most windows featuring leaded glazing. There are three stone dormers with timber-framed gables; the outer windows have stone mullions while the central window has a wooden one. A central stone doorcase includes a mullioned overlight and a 20th-century door. Above the door, there is a datestone inscribed "GDG 1806". On either side of the door, there are stone mullioned cross casements. The left gable has two first-floor windows that were reglazed in the late 20th century. This building was one of those altered between 1790 and 1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and remodelled in a picturesque style between 1820 and 1840 by Gregory Gregory, who were successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
