Description

The Village Cross in Harlaxton is a structure dating from the 14th century and early 19th century. It is made of ashlar and features an octagonal obelisk that stands approximately 2 meters high. This obelisk is set on a 14th-century octagonal moulded pedestal and base, which consists of two steps. It is possible that the cross has been moved from its original location. This cross is likely one of the architectural features introduced to the village between 1820 and 1840 by Gregory Gregory, who was the Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton.
