Description
The building is an outhouse at Aslackby Manor House, originally a barn and formerly a Methodist Chapel. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations in the early 19th century, late 19th century, and 20th century. The structure is made of red brick, with some limestone rubble and ashlar, and features a pantile roof with moulded brick eaves.
It is two stories high and has a five-bay front that is irregular. On the right side, there is a large doorway with a wooden lintel and double plank doors. To the left is a taller doorway with a segmental head, raised ashlar keystone, and double plank doors. There is a narrow brick buttress to the left, which has a clear break in bonding beyond it. A blocked doorway with a segmental head is also located to the left, accompanied by a squat buttress. Above this, there is a semi-circular headed chapel window with glazing bars that has been inserted.
Further left, there is another buttress with a doorway beyond, featuring a wooden lintel and double stable doors. Above this, there is a slit breather and a two-light casement window in the far right bay. The south gable end has a wooden staircase leading up to a doorway with a wooden lintel and a plank door. The lower rear wall is made of rubble. This building is included for its group value only.
