Description

The gateway to Aslackby Manor is a structure from the mid-17th century made of limestone ashlar. It features a flat-headed entrance framed by a rectangular moulded architrave and rectangular jambs on either side. To the right at ground level, there is a small round-headed opening that likely served as a bootscraper. Above the entrance, there are moulded eaves, and the structure is topped with a gabled section that has a central ball finial. The gateway may incorporate medieval ashlar stone. The wall extends to the east and shows remnants of two red brick blind openings above on the corner, which are likely part of a 17th-century lodge that no longer exists.
