Description
The stable block and carriage house at The Rectory dates from the late 18th century and has some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof with stone coped gables that have kneelers and lower raking coped gables on either side. The building is a single storey with a garret and has a five-bay front, which is defined by three giant order blind semi-circular headed arches, with the central arch being larger. The central carriage archway contains a 20th-century garage door, and on either side are single two-light casements, each accompanied by a single doorway beyond, both of which have plank doors. Above the central archway is a shuttered opening, and all the openings have segmental heads. Additionally, there is a central oculus in the gable above.
