Description

The pump at Grange Farm, built in 1844, features a square wooden casing topped with a pyramidal roof and has facetted angles. It includes a cast moulded lead spigot and a shouldered plaque that is inscribed with "Mackland Plumber" and dated 1844. A shaped handle with a ball end is located on the side, and there is an apsidal sandstone trough in front of the pump. This structure is included for its group value only.
