Description
The Stables at Bulby Hall, built in 1864, are now used as offices. The building is constructed from squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with stone coped gables and kneelers. It has a central ridge with a latticed louvre topped by a pyramidal lead roof and a weather vane. The stables are a single storey with attics and have a five-bay front. The central bay contains a pair of open pointed arches set in a slightly advanced gabled entry bay, which is supported by stepped angle buttresses. To the left, there are two three-light windows, and to the right, there is a similar window alongside a planked door with a latticed overlight, a moulded stone head, and sunk spandrels. All windows are mullioned and feature latticed lights with moulded hoods. Above the central arch, there is a stone plaque displaying a shield of arms and the date 1864, along with a further three-light window and a square surround containing a clock face. On either side of the building, there are single gabled dormers with two-light windows and ashlar cheeks.
