Description
Home Farm House is a farmhouse built in 1837, incorporating some re-used 17th century materials, with later alterations and additions from the late 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has plain tiled roofs, one of which has a raised stone coped gable and a finial. It has single ridge and gable red brick stacks and is designed in an L-plan. The house has two storeys with a garret and a three-bay front, where the right two bays are advanced and lower than the left.
The entrance features a glazed door set within a moulded ashlar surround, supported by rusticated Doric pilasters and topped with a plain entablature. This entrance is flanked by single four-light windows. On the first floor, there are two two-light windows and one three-light window, with an additional two-light window in the gable. All windows are designed with cavetto mullions and moulded cornices. An oval plaque dated 1837 is located in the gable.
