Description
The building is a former coach house that has been converted into a conference centre and restaurant. It dates from the early 18th century and is possibly designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with ashlar dressings, and features a half hipped yellow pantile roof. It is a single-storey building with a seven-bay front. The central entrance has a semi-circular headed archway, which is flanked by 19th-century brick buttresses and three glazing bar sash windows with flat ashlar lintels. At each end of the building are shaped stone coped gables, which include end pilasters and a brick band, as well as single semi-circular arched openings with ashlar keystones, and above these openings are circular windows in the gables.
